Day 36

Tuesday April 15

9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised …

– 1 Peter 4:9-11

The greatest thing we can do in our walk of faith is to serve our awesome, wonderful, and amazing Father!! This passage reminds us of our commitment to serving him and therefore showing others (believers and unbelievers alike) the love that we have been given by our Father. This passage echoes Jesus’ commands to us in Mark 12:28-31. We should all learn from this that in life no matter what gets us down we ought to do as we have been commanded. This is indeed the way we ought to live. One of the most powerful lessons to be learned is that hate begets hate and love begets the whole world. We should aim in everyday to heed to what our Lord and Savior Jesus has told us and also, we should appreciate the gentle reminder from Peter to do so. Service may be helping our neighbor cut his lawn or it could be baking cookies and dropping them off to our neighbors with bible verses attached to them. Service may also be a person on the front lines in the mission field. Service is one of those things that can be both something big or small. So why don’t we take a challenge today.

ARE YOU READY?

Challenge:

Find a moment of opportunity to do something for either a neighbor or a friend. It could be something as big as paying off their car or house, or it could be something as small as offering to feed them dinner. Both examples I gave to aid you in this challenge but the whole goal is to share the word of our Father with them and tell them the Gospel Story.

WE CAN DO THIS!!

Wednesday April 09

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ …

– Matthew 25:35-40
Tuesday April 08

13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven …

– James 5:13-16
Monday April 07

1 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back.
Raise your voice like a trumpet.
Declare to my people their rebellion
and to the descendants of Jacob their sins …

– Isaiah 58:1-14
