Day 13

Wednesday March 19

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

– Matthew 5:14-16

As we journey through Lent, a time traditionally for reflection and repentance, it’s also important to remember the aspects of worship and celebration. Jesus calls us the light of the world, a reminder that our faith is not meant to be hidden but celebrated and shared with others.

Worship is such a powerful way to let our light shine. When we gather to worship, whether in the church, at home, in public, or in nature, we are openly celebrating our faith and giving glory to God. Our worship is a testament to our belief and an invitation for others to join in the celebration of God’s love and grace.

Celebration in worship can take many forms-singing hymns and praise songs, praying, reading scripture, and even acts of service. Each of these actions, done in the spirit of worship, truly illuminates the joy, passion, and love of Jesus Christ in our lives. During this season of lent, let us not only reflect inwardly but also express our faith outwardly through joyous worship and celebration of our Savior.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, during this Lenten season, help us to worship You with hearts full of joy and celebration. Let our worship be a light that shines brightly, drawing others to Your love and grace. May our actions in worship and our lives reflect Your glory and bring honor to Your name. Amen.

I encourage you this week to incorporate an element of celebration into your worship. It could be singing your favorite hymn or praise song, sharing a testimony of God’s goodness in your life or someone else’s, or an act of kindness as an expression of your faith. Let your worship be a light that shines brightly for all to see.

Friday April 04

40 “‘But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me, 41 which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, 42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.”

– Leviticus 26:40-42
Thursday April 03

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

– Jeremiah 29:11
Wednesday April 02

1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.” …

– Ezekiel 37:1-6
